This Privacy Policy describes how EasyLinguisy ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Profile Information: Your name (optional), native language, learning language, proficiency level, and interests. This information is stored locally on your device and is used to personalize your learning experience.
- Conversation Content: Messages you type or speak during roleplay and teacher sessions. These are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers after your session ends.
- Audio Recordings: When you use the voice input feature, audio is recorded from your device microphone, sent to our server for transcription, and discarded immediately after processing. We do not store your voice recordings.
- Feedback: If you choose to submit feedback, we collect your message, optional email address, and optional rating. This is stored in our database.
- Custom Scenarios: Roleplay scenarios you create are stored locally on your device only.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Anonymous User Identifier: We use Supabase anonymous authentication to create a random identifier for your session. No email or password is required.
- Usage Analytics: We collect anonymized usage events (e.g., features used, session duration, message count) through Mixpanel. These events are associated with your anonymous identifier, not your real identity. Analytics data is sent to Mixpanel's EU servers.
- Subscription Status: If you subscribe to EasyLinguisy Pro, your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Email address or password (unless you voluntarily provide an email in feedback)
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or calendar data
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
- Browsing history
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and personalize the language learning experience
- Generate AI-powered conversations, grammar corrections, and translations
- Convert your speech to text and generate spoken responses
- Track your vocabulary progress and learning streaks (locally on your device)
- Improve the App through anonymized usage analytics
- Process subscription payments through the app stores
- Respond to your feedback
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each service receives only the minimum data necessary for its function:

Note on OpenAI: Conversation data sent to OpenAI may be used by OpenAI to improve their models, in accordance with their data usage policies. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's privacy policy for details.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Local Data: Your profile settings, vocabulary dictionary, learning streaks, and session data are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. This data never leaves your device unless you interact with AI features.
- Server Data: User feedback is stored in our Supabase database. Scenario catalogs are stored server-side.
- Conversation Data: Conversations are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers. Conversation context may be temporarily retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days per their data retention policies.
- Audio Data: Voice recordings are transmitted over HTTPS, transcribed, and immediately discarded. We do not retain audio files.
- Encryption: All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
5. Data Retention
- Local data is retained on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
- Feedback submissions are retained in our database indefinitely or until you request deletion.
- Analytics data is retained by Mixpanel per their data retention policies.
- Streak history is automatically pruned after 60 days of inactivity.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data. You can delete all local data by uninstalling the App. To request deletion of server-side data (feedback), contact us at the email below.
- Opt-Out of Analytics: Analytics can be disabled — contact us to request this.
- Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format.

7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States (OpenAI, Deepgram) and the European Union (Mixpanel). By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through the use of reputable third-party service providers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
